Docking a running script

The Vizard graphics window can be docked within the IDE when a script is run. Simultaneously running a program and being able to access other windows within the IDE can facilitate development. Commands can be entered in the Interactive window or the debugger can be run without having to minimize or move the graphics window:

Docking Options

There are two options for docking a script that can be found in the Script menu: Run Docked and Dock Script.

Run Docked: This will run the script and immediately dock it within the IDE.

Dock Script: This allows you to toggle the docked state of an already running script.

Window Position

The first time you use this, the docked script pane will appear floating. You can dock the pane anywhere you want within the IDE, and the next time you dock the script it will remember the location.

Docking the window

  1. Click the window title bar and hold down the left mouse button.
  2. Drag the mouse over to one of the docking guides.
  3. Release the mouse button to snap the window in place.
